Race, Lawyers and The Law:

Looking In/Looking Out

Attorneys have a powerful and protected place in American society, so what is their ethical and professional responsibility to address one of that society's most important and difficult issues? Please join us for the DCDBA's October two-hour ethics CLE luncheon featuring a lively moderated panel discussion about exactly that. Influential voices in the legal community will discuss race and the legal community, including: law firm hiring, retention, control and culture; judicial diversity and how to expand it; the role of law firms and lawyers in addressing racial issues in the broader community utilizing influence with clients, in politics, and in the media; crisis response; and the goal of long term change.
